Last week Rovio’s Angry Birds released the newest edition to the addicting game: Angry Birds Space. It has quickly become the most downloaded app in history, with 10 million downloads in 3 days. The game itself is a fun, yet educational, distraction from the norm.
As people spend their free time shooting birds around orbiting planets and breaking through barriers to kill the targeted green pigs, there are some valuable lessons that one can take away from Angry Birds.
- Learn from Mistakes and Keep Trying
In the game, and the game of life, it is vital to learn how to problem solve, and learn from your mistakes so you can succeed and get it right the next time. When a challenge or problem arises and you have failed before, don’t give up; use what you have learned from your mistakes and failures and don’t do it again.
- It’s ok to Launch into Something and Not Know the Outcome
Sometimes in life, you have to set out upon a path of the unknown. It can be scary, and frustrating not knowing where you will end up, but its ok. The point is to set out anyways. I can guarantee there will be failures, and you will fall down quite a few times, but if you continue to learn from your mistakes successes will come too.
- Orbiting Around Something will Only make you Fail
Just like in Angry Birds Space, sometimes you will get sucked into something and have no way out. In life, our gravitational pull should pull us down to ground us. Depending on what your gravitational pull is centered on, or your focus in life, it should pull you towards your goals not set you up for the traps of a busy life, routines, or thinking if you do the same things you will get a different result.
- Our first Tries and Attempts Set us up to Break Through Walls Later
Sometimes when we are not successful on our first attempt, we get frustrated and tempted to give up. But something to remember, it may not be the right time for you to succeed. You may need to break down a few walls first so you can set yourself up to succeed.
When playing Angry Birds Space, or the Game of life, commit to keep trying and not giving up. The next level, or chapter in life, is only a failure away.
