Possessing a balance of being self-motivated and the ability to work on a team is imperative. You will spend time away from home. If you have a family and do not enjoy being away from them for long periods, this may not be the ideal fit for you. You must also be highly outgoing with top interpersonal skills. Your networking abilities may be the skill to make or lose your company millions of dollars.

Responsibilities of Business Development Manager

Your online MBA or various online degrees will be the foundation from which you work. You will have learned valuable tools and assets to guide you through top careers as a business development manager. You will use your skills and tools of communication to create strategic development plans and present them to executives, stakeholders, and potential investors. You will also be required to learn as much about your market competition to remain a leader in your industry in growth markets.

You will work with many departments throughout the organization. You will work with people in sales to learn about the customers needs and wants. You will also work with sales to create strategic growth plans once you determine your new target markets. You will work with marketing to determine how to best reach your target audience in said markets. You will also work with marketing to determine which promotional methodologies are successful and which require improvements. You will also conduct independent studies and market research to determine which markets are ideal for your organization to expand into successfully.
