Emergency Management Specialists

Emergency Management Specialists coordinate disaster response , prepare emergency plans for disasters, and provide training to prepare others for potential disasters.

Besides coordinating a response in an actual disaster, most Emergency Management Specialists are responsible for developing emergency plans and resources to be used in an emergency. Specialists must remain informed of local, state, and federal regulations and ensure that current emergency plans conform to the regulations. They must also stay informed of developing technologies that would improve current emergency plans.
