Education and Training
To become an emergency room technician, one must have obtained his or her high school diploma or GED. An entrance examination and interview is usually conducted as part of the hiring process. This training can be completed within nine months if you go to school full time. Jobs as an ER technician are expected to rise by 35 percent in the next ten years, making a job as an ER technician essentially recession-proof.
