Many industries depend on machinery and tools to produce their products. Factories often contain equipment that monitors and assists the production process in a factory. The responsibility of an Electric Motor, Power Tool, and Related Repairer is to perform routine maintenance on this equipment, and provide repairs when the machinery stops working.
There are two primary kinds of Electric Repairers. A field technician is responsible for making repairs on the factory floor, often traveling to various sites to perform repairs. A bench technician handles repairs that can not be done on site and works out of a repair shop in the factory or at a service center.
A position as an Electric Motor, Power Tool, and Related Repairer usually requires certification from a vocational school. An associates degree in electronics is also preferred for most positions. Be sure to look at the programs being offered in many locations.
