First-Line Supervisors/Managers of Mechanics, Installers, and Repairers supervise and manage the work of mechanics, installers, and repairers and perform many of the same work tasks as those workers.

The managers determine work schedules an assignments. Monitor the equipment and tool inventories, determining when old equipment must be discarded and when new equipment needs to be purchased. They investigate accidents and injuries to determine cause and possible ways to prevent the problems in the future.
