A dispatcher uses radios, telephones, and computers to schedule and assign work crews, service vehicles and equipment. Theses personnel and equipment often transport materials and passengers, perform on-site installation, or preform on-site repairs.

A Dispatcher can also be known as a train dispatcher, city dispatcher, motor coach supervisor, aircraft dispatcher, dispatch manager, dispatch supervisor, rail operations controller, school bus dispatcher, truck dispatcher, among others.
