However, most modern careers and employers are beginning to require some type of career training or education. Current position listings should have a list of the requirements that agency or department is looking for. There could be the requirement of completing a certificate, diploma or even degree program at a police or law enforcement academy of some type. It depends on the program, but some of the courses might be available through distance education so you may be able to work and study in some cases.
