Sounds pretty great doesn’t it? Only 15 minutes and you are a working college student. The other day my roommate had spent the entire day searching online for jobs and submitting resumes to various restaurants and businesses. I didn’t know he was looking for a job but when he told me I decided to help. Within 15 minutes, I had found the perfect job for him and helped him submit an online application. That morning he got a call from the company and had an interview. He later got the job. Just last week I recommended a friend for a position and she got the job.
The biggest and best resource for getting a job is networking. Do not try to do it all by yourself. Post on Facebook and Twitter to see if anyone knows of any possible jobs, that will easily help you get a job in 15 minutes. Another great resource for finding great jobs quickly is Craigslist. I have helped several friends find perfect jobs quickly through Craigslist. All are local and you can filter them easily to find what you want.
For the jobs you are especially interested in, you must call back in 24 hours even if they say they will call you. Call them and introduce yourself to the manager. Tell them you recently submitted an application and would like to see when you can come in for an interview. This will greatly increase your chances of getting the job. For most people, it might take a little longer than 15 minutes. It is mostly luck as well as skill. Job hunting is a skill that takes time and patience to develop.
With high unemployment rates and talk of a double-dip recession, people seem to think there is nothing out there for them. They are sadly mistaken. There are jobs all over the place, however you might need to take some online courses so you are more qualified for certain positions. Whatever you decide to do, work hard and don’t give up. There are opportunities everywhere.
