Memorial day weekend is fast approaching. It’s a time to remember and honor the brave hearts and spend time with family and friends while enjoying the warmer weather. Just remember to be responsible and not drink or text while driving, pack alot of sunscreen, and drink plenty of water.
Kick off your 3-Day Weekend and Beginning of Summer with one of these Fun-Filled Activities:
1. Memorial Day Parade
Start your weekend off by paying tribute to the people who have lost their lives fighting for yours. Most major cities do a parade, so check your local news site to find when and where the nearest parade is to you. Just make sure to bring your sunscreen and plenty of water.
2. Air Show
Air shows are a great family and date activity that is different from the norm, and offer plenty of entertainment and excitement for little moolah.
3. Pool Party
Rent out your local swimming pool, and plan a festive get together with friends and family. To save money, you can have a “potluck” snack bar, and “pool” you and friends’ money together to make the rental fees a little cheaper. Also, don’t forget to include on the invitation to BYOB so your not forking over the cash to supply everyone’s alcohol consumption.
4. Wine Tasting
Why not visit a scenic winery and spend the day tasting a little vino?! Just make sure to have a DD, or have the number for a taxi set on your speed dial.
5. Community Service
Memorial Day is a great weekend to help out on various community service projects. You can help build homes with Habitat for Humanity, grab some friends and clean up the roads, or volunteer as a Big Brother/Big Sister and take kids for a pick up game or picnic.
6. Camping/Hiking
Spend your 3-Day weekend in the great outdoors. Fires, stars, hiking, great conversations and stories, s’mores, and good company. I cant think of a better way to spend your extra day off!
