Throughout your career and training, you will be responsible for writing down patient histories, maintaining patient records, writing prescriptions, explaining surgical processes and procedures to patients and their support systems, educating patients on their new lifestyle restrictions, and much more. If you cannot effectively communicate both orally and through the written word, you could kill someone. You must also be a team player. Each person on the surgical team is of equal importance. Throughout your career, you may spend time working in most of the positions. It is important to always treat one another with respect and work together for the future of the patient.
