James Maroney, the owner and Director of Educational Consulting at First Choice College Placement is a 1992 graduate of Jonathan Law High School in Milford, and a 1996 graduate of Yale University. As owner of First Choice, he is a member of the Higher Education Consultants Association, National Association for College Admission Counseling, and he served his alma mater, Yale University, as an alumni interviewer for almost 10 years. After graduation, he lived in New York City and traded equities for nearly two years before founding First Choice College Placement. Since returning to Milford, he has become an active member of the community. He is the President-Elect of the Devon Rotary, a member of the board of directors of the Milford Literacy Center, an active member of the Milford Chamber of Commerce, and the founder and coach of the Milford Centaur Youth Track Team.
