The Job

Your job begins with the creation of a campaign, and ends with the start of the next. You will be monitoring the success, or lack thereof, very closely. You might be responsible for creating social media reports, or analyzing how you might improve the next one. A good campaign manager is proficient in areas such as public relations, reassessing color schemes and removing material from social media pages. You will be responsible for creating significant milestones, tracking team members’ progress, managing budgetary restraints and selecting partners. You might be responsible for ordering physical materials for a campaign, managing equipment, and negotiating contracts with suppliers. A campaign manager has a lot of work to do, and the job is never really done.
Educational Requirements
As with most managerial positions, a marketing campaign manager is required to have at least a bachelor’s degree from an online university, or traditional university. Many organizations have raised their educational expectations and require online master’s degrees or an MBA. If you have been working in marketing for many years and you wish to further advance your career in campaign management, you should consider professional certifications and online courses. Marketing has changed significantly in the past five years. If you have not taken a course in marketing in the past five years, it may behoove you greatly to do so. Employers want to see you are committed to remaining a leader in your field. These courses will enhance your skill set and increase your salary expectations.
