Economics Teachers, Postsecondary

Postsecondary Economics Teachers, often referred to as economics professors, teach economics, the science of the production, distribution, and consumption of goods and serviced, at a post secondary level.

Economics teachers give lectures and assign homework to their students. They are also responsible for grading these assignments and determine how the students will be tested for the class. Teachers need strong interpersonal skills, often discussing subject matter to individual students as well as the entire class.

Post-Secondary Economics Teachers are expected to remain informed in current theories, both in economics and in teaching, as well as interacting with other faculty, attending conferences, and publishing papers on economics.

In order to teach at the post secondary level, a postgraduate degree is required. A Master’s Degree or Ph.D. are the most common advanced degrees associated with an economics professor. Look into the different degrees being offered in many locations and make a invest in your future!
