Extruding and Forming Machine Setters, Operators, and Tenders working in synthetic and glass fiber are responsible for the set up, operation, and maintenance of machines that extrude or form continuous filaments such as rayon or fiberglass.
These operators are responsible for adjusting the machinery for each individual project, removing excess, entangled, and completed filaments from machines using hand tools. They also investigate problems with the machinery and make minor repairs as well as perform regular maintenance.
