Electrical and Electronics Repairers specializing in powerhouses, substations, and relays repair the electronic equipment that is used to generate electricity and relay that electricity across the nation. They are also responsible for the inspection, testing, diagnosing, and repair of the equipment.

These repairers often need to shut down major equipment, and are responsible for the notification of employees and scheduling the shutdown. This is done to isolate defective relays in order to repair them. Repairers not only find and repair malfunctioning equipment but are responsible for identifying defective equipment. They perform regular maintenance and cleaning on all involved equipment as well.

Completion of a certification course from a vocational school is often required to become a Electrical and Electronics Repairers specializing in powerhouses, substations, and relays and an electronics associate’s degree is recommended.
