Careers as Etchers and Engravers
Etchers and Engravers are responsible for etching decorations or identifying marks on a wide variety of substances such as metal, plastic, rubber, wood, and others. Even high-end electronics like computer chips often have identifying marks etched on them.
Etchers and Engravers determine the deepness of the etchings, adjusting their tools and work spaces to adjust for the need of the material and the particular etching. They are responsible for their own quality control, examining their work for burns and imperfections. The also deal with chemicals, creating specific mixtures of acids to help them with specific materials.
A position as an Etcher and Engraver typically requires a High School Diploma or GED certificate. Take a look at the programs being offered in many locations.
