A Farm and Home Management Advisor is responsible for assisting families engaged in agriculture or agriculture related endeavors. They instruct others in proper agricultural techniques, and solve specific problems their clientele may have.

They sometimes teach classes in agricultural techniques, business practices, and agricultural sales. Farm and Home Management Advisors are expected to be extremely knowledgeable, becoming familiar with the newest techniques and theories.
