Careers as Farm Equipment Mechanics

Farm Equipment Mechanics are responsible for the maintenance and repair of farm equipment as well as small lawn and garden tractors used in various homes. As farm machinery has become complex, the need for specialized mechanics has grown.

Mechanics perform regular maintenance, cleaning and inspecting parts. They also dismantle defective equipment, often by hand, to repair broken down machinery.

Most employers prefer to hire Farm Equipment Mechanics that have completed a training program from a vocational school. Be sure to check out the programs being offered in many locations.
