Students who love preparing and serving food should explore a culinary arts program. In many locations culinary arts programs train students to prepare and deliver food, manage the budget, manage customers’ needs, supervise employees and maintain safety and quality standards.

Culinary arts encompasses almost everything that relates to food: flavor, preparation, baking, serving, meal planning, budgeting, management, customer service, leadership, organization skills, and so much more. This career is both enjoyable, interesting, and lucrative. People in this industry enjoy their job because they get to do what they love for a living.

People with many Associate’s Degrees in culinary arts use both culinary and management skills as they organize and orchestrate the catering process from start to finish. Catering management courses will assist students in menu creation and design, financial systems in catering, purchasing, hospitality, food safety and customer service.

There is a need for catering managers in a variety of different settings including hotels, hospitals, universities, and private practice.
