Patient Care Technician | Online Degrees

Patient care technicians are known in the medical world by the acronym PCT or hospital attendants and they play an important role in the health care system. They assist patients in basic daily functions such as eating, getting out of bed, bathing, exercise, grooming, etc.

As patient care technicians spend a great deal of time with the patient one-on-one, they develop fulfilling relationships and make the patient’s life more enjoyable during their stay at the hospital.

In many locations patient care courses will prepare students to enter the workforce well-educated and energized as they are taught about vital signs, CPR, phlebotomy, and other laboratory tests.

Many patient care technicians go on to become a certified nurse assistant or a certified nurse. Some patient care technicians work in nursing homes, assisted living centers, or other long-term care facilities.

Put that tender heart of yours to work as a patient care technician and get into some classes today!
