Photographers capture moments, memories, and captivating images. Photographers can work in a variety of industries as portrait photographers, commercial photographers, sports photographers, wedding photographers, fine art photographers, or stock photographers.

Opportunities for travel and a flexible work schedule are common perks of the job and many photographers are self-employed. This is a dream job for many who love art, design, and desktop publishing. People with many Degrees in photography get to do what they love: capture moments and share them with the world.

In many locations photography classes teach students the fundamentals of photography including composition, framing, lighting, and the cardinal “Rule of Thirds.” With recent evolutions in photography, programs include digital and traditional SLR photography and processing.

Once students have the basics down, they will explore more advanced techniques using different lighting, indoor and outdoor settings, and computer software such as Photoshop to enhance and edit images.
