During hard economic times, many people are looking for ways to find a better income. It is pretty much a proven fact that a college education will almost always raise a person’s income level. However, college can be very expensive and time consuming. One of the solutions to this dilemma is to obtain a degree from a cheap college online. Here are three of the best online universities on the internet for students on a budget.

1. Peru State College

This academic institution is named after Peru, Nebraska. However, most of the school’s students don’t live anywhere near Nebraska. The school is in fact one of the best kept secrets in the country in regards to a quality online education. One reason is that the school has many excellent academic programs for students to choose from online. Fields of study popular at the school include management, accounting, criminal justice, and psychology. The school is also fully accredited and offers both bachelor’s and master’s degrees. Better yet, tuition is only $157 for one credit hour.

2. The University of Wyoming

The first building to become part of the University of Wyoming was constructed in 1886. Despite the school’s long history, it has gone on to become one of the largest online universities in the United States. The school’s success is thanks both to the excellent curriculum offered as well as the extremely reasonably priced tuition. Bachelor’s degrees offered include degrees in business, criminal justice, education, nursing, and psychology. Tuition for undergraduates is only $134 for one credit hour. Even more impressive is the fact the school does not charge higher rates of tuition for students who live outside of Wyoming.

3. Chardon State College

Another great choice for an online university is Chardon State College. Headquartered in Chardon, Nebraska, this academic institution provides a quality online education to thousands of students every year.
