An online education has several advantages over traditional classroom colleges. In the past, schools that offered online educations sometimes were of dubious quality and the benefits of the education were questioned by employers. At present, state universities and other public and private colleges offer much of their curriculum online and, in some cases, fully accredited degrees can be earned without setting foot on the campus of the awarding college or university.
Here’s ten reasons you should go back to school online.

1. Affordability. Online classes are usually less expensive than their on-site counterparts.

2. Flexible scheduling. Attend classes on your own schedule, day or night. You can often access computerized coursework from any location or computer.

3. Convenience. Earn an accredited degree right from the comfort of home.

4. Study at your own speed. Online colleges and universities are uniquely able to provide individualized instruction. Each school is different and in some instances the student can learn and progress at his own rate, within designated limitations.

5. Employment. Many employers require a college degree prior to employment. Some professions require a college degree as a minimum requirement for employment in their field.

6. Career advancement. Earning a degree favorably situates graduates for promotions and pay increases within their respective fields.

7. Skills development. A wide variety of employment skills are readily developed in online learning. Computer use, languages, and learning to write for pleasure or publication are examples of skills easily learned online.
