In order to design a system of various applications for a business, one must have a solid understanding of business fundamentals. It is imperative these professionals grasp the overall concept of the business in order to effectively build and execute a new systems design. These people may also have to train technical and non-technical people alike. A highly desired quality of a solution architect is a person with the ability to teach with patience and understanding. This position is about finding balance in all aspects of the profession.

Requirements

While many technology savvy individuals are skilled enough they do not need online bachelors degrees to be good at their jobs, much of the business world believes otherwise. By pursuing online degrees or online certifications, you are polishing your skills for the working world.

You will be required to have, at least, a high school diploma or its equivalent. It is often easier to obtain a degree first, then apply for a job as a solution architect. It would also behoove you to work on your problem solving skills and working well with others. You may be required to work on a team much of the time, so if you prefer to work independently, this may not be the right fit for you. You will also be required to diagnose problem areas of existing company systems and provide a solution. You must be able to handle stress well and communicate good news and bad news effectively. These projects are often significant investments by companies, no matter the size of the organization. People’s expectations of these positions are enormously higher than other positions in the company.
