If you aren’t making enough money at your job, you’re being passed up for promised promotions, or you qualify for tuition reimbursement, these may be some signs from your pocketbook that it’s time for you to go back to college.

You don’t make enough money. You’re happy at your current job. You like the people and the work, but you just aren’t making enough money to make ends meet, despite the raise you recently negotiated. In order to get paid more, it’s important to be worth more. To become a more valuable asset for your organization, you can go back to college to get higher education and further certification. While college does require an investment up front, it can help you qualify for higher pay in the long run, not to mention improved quality of life. If college isn’t affordable for you, there is financial aid, grants, and scholarships you can apply for to make it work with your budget.

Once you earn further education, be sure to demonstrate your value to your current and future employers to ensure you get the most bang for your buck from your college investment.

You get tuition reimbursement from your job. One of the perks of your job is that they offer tuition reimbursement for people who decide to go back to college. If you’ve always wanted to go back to school to gain additional skills, this is the perfect opportunity!

You’re being passed up for promotions. You were promised that promotion, but when the time came, you were passed up for it. If you’re doing everything else right but can’t seem to make it through the glass ceiling, going back to college to earn additional degrees or certifications can help give you that edge to be recognized and compensated accordingly by upper management.
