5 Career Tips from Amelia Earhart

0

I’ve always thought Amelia Earhart was a pretty cool woman. Seemed to me that she knew what she wanted and went after it – way to go! Since Ms. Earhart went missing on July 2, 1937, it seemed like a good time to share a few tips from her about being your very best:

“Never let someone turn you around.” When you know what you want to do and know what direction you should go, don’t let the nay-sayers stop you or detour you from the path you know is best.

“When ever I’m afraid, I look it straight in the eye.” When there is something along your route that scares you, it’s important to embrace that you’re scared and deal with it. Doing so, you’ll be stronger.

“Everything I do is so that I can fly.” Time is short and there is much that can distract you from reaching your dreams. Decide what your goal is and then make sure everything you do is moving towards that goal.

“Build your career for yourself, not for anyone else.” Choose your career for what you love. Explore in your heart what you really want to be… Even if that means doing something different from what your family wants.

“Everyone has oceans to fly, as long as you have the heart to do it. What is your ocean to fly?” We will always have challenges – oceans – to navigate. The key is to have the energy and desire to deal with those challenges. Keep your eye on the goals at the horizon and you will get past the ocean of challenges.
