  • I am totally a left brain guy, but I am interested in some the right brained activities. College students should take a similar assessment to see if their chosen major is a good fit for their brain type.

    Good stuff!

  • Thanks for sharing, Eric! I’m totally right brained but have found that working with left brain people that it helps me communicate in a language left brain folks understand. You’re exactly right though — if college students do quizzes like this to find out if they’re introverted or extroverted, right brain or left brain, they’ll be able to make sure their course of study is going to be consistent with their personalities and preferences.

  • Lucky you! You use both sides of your bain equally. It’s important for people to develop both sides of their brain, and you have that balance to your advantage. Do you favor the right or left side of your brain as a preference?

  • While I enjoy appreciating the beauty of things, I certainly lack the creativity in me to be consider a right-brained gal. Perhaps it’s something yet discovered…. ;) . Oh, my I scored mostly B.

  • I answered mostly A but I also have a creative personality and can be very spontaneous when needed. I think being able to use both sides of your brain makes you a more balanced person overall.

  • Agreed, Stephanie. While we definitely have a preferred side of the brain, being able to be “bilingual” and use both sides of the brain help us more easily adapt to people and situations we encounter. Thanks for your insight!

  • Michael, glad to hear that you’re in a career that definitely utilizes your strengths as a left brain thinker! Appreciate your feedback.

  • Interesting, Dawn. I think a lot of people identify creativity as painting pictures or singing beautifully or writing books, but there are so many other facets to it. Your creativity may manifest itself in the way you are able to solve problems outside of the box or help facilitate positive encounters with people you know. It will be fun to discover the creative side of your personality.

  • I really think this quiz confuses right-brainedness with ADHD. I don’t have struggle focusing… I am differently focused. I want to organize according to feeling rather than words. Meaning doesn’t always attach to sound for me, and I like to live in a world saturated with texture, sound, and emotion. But I am able to focus on that. It is just different orientation. Perhaps the creator of the quiz is left-brained?

  • Wow, this was actually a tough test for me. The first few questions I was totally in agreement with BOTH answers. My tendancy is more towards B answers but truth be told, I need and require facts and figures and routine. So where does this put me?

    Comment by Susan Schenck — February 23, 2012 @ 6:26 pm
  • If you take the test and your answers are split between both right and left brained; it means that you easily adapt to using both sides of the brain, and can switch off depending on what the situation calls for!

  • It’s very important to understand if you’re rather left- or right-brained. Luckily, I chose the right field of study for me (a combination of both). But now I realise that my mother (left-brained) used too much of left-brained methods for my education- good that she was not the only one educating me
