If reading the Twilight saga and watching the movies isn’t giving you enough of an Edward (or Jacob!) fix, sign up for a Twilight college course. There are plenty of colleges and universities that offer classes that are based on the Stephenie Meyer Saga. If this thought has you salivating, read on.

The Vampire in Literature and Film - Harvard University. Proving that vampire classes aren’t just for lesser known colleges, the renown Harvard University is teaching a film class online this fall on vampires and their insatiable appeal in today’s culture as apparent by Buffy the Vampire Slayer, the Sookie Stackhouse, and Twilight. The class explores the fears and fantasies that are associated with this preoccupation with the beautiful undead.

Topics in Women’s Studies: Twilight: The Text and The Fandom - California State University. In the fall of 2010, CSU debuted this Twilight class which delved into how popular culture has an impact on gender, race, and sexuality. The class is taught by Dr. Natalie Wilson who runs a blog called Seduced by Twilight which discusses the allure and contradiction of the popular saga. She is also an author a book by the same title.

Reading the Vampire: Science, Sexuality, and Alterity in Modern Culture - University of Hertfordshire. While this class doesn’t primarily focus on the Meyers’ Cullen clan, it may give you some other vampires to obsess about while including Anne Rice and historic vampire stories along with the Twilight Saga.

The Vampire in Literature and Popular Culture - Bates College. With our culture’s current obsession with vampires, this course explores the components of this fascination which include immortality, addiction, sexuality, and alienation.

Would you ever take a class that included the Twilight Saga in its recommended reading?
