Additionally, you will need to know how to operate an incubator, ventilator, and be able to hook up intravenous tubes if they are needed. Finally, if the baby should stop breathing, you should know how to resuscitate.

Nursery nurses are registered nurses who have completed a graduate program as neonatal nurse practitioners or neonatal nurse specialists. This means that you will have to go back to school and earn a bachelor of science in nursing degree and continue on to graduate school. You will also have to gain experience in the field.
