Careers as Computer Operators

People who have natural talent when it comes to computers should take that skill and become a computer operator. Computer operators help people use electronic computer and peripheral electronic equipment for business, engineering, data, and scientific purposes.

Duties include monitoring systems, troubleshooting, using software programs, assisting programmers, and more. People with this career use things like computer servers, hard disk drives, tape drives, printers, operating system software, and database management software on a daily basis.

Students who are good with computers, telecommunications, and personal service, will probably do well with this career.

Most computer operators have an associate’s degree. An educational program will teach students all about telecommunications, computers, electronics, clerical skills, and personal service.

Regardless of their background or experience, students can embark on a rewarding career as a computer operator in many locations.
