Careers as Eligibility Interviewers, Government Programs

Eligibility Interviewers for government programs are responsible for interviewing people applying for government services such as unemployment or welfare.

These interviewers prepare case files for each individual candidate, determine the appropriate amount of payment, and also conduct future interviews to determine continued eligibility for the government service.

Most Eligibility interviewers receive on the job training from more experienced interviewers. A High School Diploma or GED certificate is required in most circumstances, so be sure to look at the programs being offered in many locations.
