For people who find themselves constantly admiring buildings, structures and landmarks, architecture may be an ideal field to pursue. Architects design buildings and other spaces to be both practical and aesthetically pleasing.

There are many branches in the field including design architects, project architects, project managers, construction administrators and draftspersons.

Job opportunities in this industry go up and down, depending on the economy. This industry is very competitive but with internships, aspiring architects can get a head start and become more competitive for entry-level jobs in many locations. Compensation for architects can range anywhere from $30,000 to $100,000 depending on their area of focus.
