Cardiovascular technologists assist cardiologists (heart doctors) in the process of diagnosing and treating cardiovascular diseases and problems. They perform echo cardiograms, cardiac catherizations, stress tests and they also monitor heart rates and assist cardiologists. Cardiovascular technicians often work in hospitals or private physician’s offices and in 2002 mad an average of $36,430 according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
