Ten Things to Distract You from Online College Course Study

2. Friends calling or texting. A student who is supposed to be studying for an online college course should avoid answering any calls or texts from friends. If the person does answer the friend’s call or text, he or she is taking the risk of being caught up in a long conversation.
3. Spending time on the Internet. An online student is wise to avoid the time consuming activity of surfing around the Internet during study time.
4. Reading email. A student should not use his or her study period to read emails. Generally, if a person reads emails, then he or she feels the need to answer some of them.
5. Tending to household chores. In many cases, necessary household chores can take the place of valuable study time. Organization can help make time for both activities.
6. Listening to a radio talk show. For many students, it’s tempting to switch on the radio while they study. Unfortunately, it’s likely that the student’s full attention is not centered on his or her studies.
7. Staring out the window. This is a common distraction for a student. Fortunately, a student is able to refocus and keep the daydreaming to a minimum.
8. Reading a novel. Sometimes if a student is involved in reading an exciting novel it’s tempting to put aside studies to read. However, reading a novel can be used as a reward for diligent study.
9. Talking with a spouse. Talking with a spouse and studying for an online course are difficult things to accomplish simultaneously. A student must designate a certain time period for quiet study.
10. Eating a meal. Trying to eat a meal while studying for an online college course can be challenging. A student should enjoy the delicious taste the meal has to offer and then move onto study time.
