As soon as you realize that there may have been a problem with the assignment submission, send your instructor an e-mail explaining what you think happened. If possible, attach a copy of your assignment to your e-mail as proof that you really did complete it on time. Most instructors understand that computers sometimes have hiccups and will give you a chance to resubmit the assignment once the technical difficulties have been handled. If it is a system error on the website, you are probably not the only student having problems.
Contact Technical Support
Once you have sent an e-mail explaining the situation to your instructor, you should contact the website’s technical support. Online school programs are generally equipped with very friendly help techs who can take care of any problem with the site quickly. Be ready to describe your problem in a simple, step by step manner so that the technician can try to pinpoint what the trouble is. You may need to walk the tech through the submission process bit by bit until he or she can discover where the glitch is.
Check Your Computer Configuration
Sometimes an online submission program can have problems because the computer you are working on needs some maintenance. Usually a simple reboot of the system will take care of any memory problem that may have been hanging up the system. Restarting your computer can also take care of connection problems that are dropping in and out if you are on a wireless network. Try turning off your computer for a few minutes, then turning it back on and trying to access your school submission site. Many times the problems will go away in the restart and everything will work normally again.
