Careers as Dishwashers

A dishwasher is responsible for enduring the cleanliness of the dishes, silverware, and glassware used in restaurants and cafeterias. All materials must be sufficiently cleaned to ensure the healthy and safety of the customers or patrons.

Dishwashers are also known as kitchen stewards, utility aides, dish room workers, dish technicians. Dishwashers need to be physically capable of continuous dish washing and transporting several dishes at once.

Some dish washing positions require a high school diploma or GED, be sure to look into the programs being offered in many locations.
