Careers as Electrical Power-Line Installers and Repairers

An Electrical Power-Line Installer and Repairer is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing the power-lines the make up the vast electrical networks across the world.

The power grid is very complicated, and thus a high amount of specialization occurs in the field of power-line installation and repair. Some focus on electric power-lines and others specialize in telecommunications lines. It is also common to specialize in installation or repair, as well as managing power-lines at the local level, or in grids that extend beyond city and state boundaries.

A position as an Electrical Power-Line Installer and Repairer requires a minimum of a High School diploma or a GED certificate. Additional skills, such as algebra, trigonometry, and electronics is considered beneficial for an installer and repairer.
