Administrative Law Judges, Adjudicators, and Hearing Officers

If you are into courtroom dramas, why not make that your reality? A career as an administrative law judge, adjudicator or hearing officer might be just what you are looking for.

If you want to help uphold the law and spend your days in courtrooms defending U.S. citizens, you should definitely look into a career as an administrative law judge, adjudicator or hearing officer.

Administrative law judges, working on a state or federal level, preside over cases between government agencies and individuals. They can administer oaths, hear testimonies, rule on evidence and make decisions as they relate to the law and facts.

After you are trained and have received your degree, you must be appointed to a position. Administrative law judges are appointed based on test scores and an oral exam before a panel.

Adjudicators work with courtrooms to help figure out how much is due for liability and they offer advice on settlement offers. Hearing officers oversee hearings and decide or advise on claims. They also help with liability claims and settlement offers.
