Agricultural equipment operating is an extremely hands-on job that is ideal for people who like to work outside and love nature.

If you like working outside, with nature and providing for people, you might enjoy being an agricultural equipment operator. With this job you will get to use tractors, combines, irrigation equipment, fertilizers and other agricultural equipment. Some tasks include planting, harvesting, irrigating, plowing, moving crops and more.

Agricultural equipment operators are able to maintain machinery, read measuring devices, test products, install equipment and use science to come to conclusions. People who are successful in this field are often good problem solvers, coordinated and flexible.

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that the average annual wage of an agricultural equipment operator is about $24,000 but that some in the career make as much as $35,000.
