Architecture teachers teach students about buildings, design and materials. They lecture, mentor students, conduct research and publish findings.
If you have a passion for architecture, you would probably enjoy teaching it at a college or university. As an architecture teacher, you will get to teach students all about building styles, architectural history, design, structures and materials.
When you aren’t lecturing you will mentor students, grade assignments, encourage class discussion, keep student records, do research and publish articles. Successful teachers are good communicators, writers, reasoners, problem solvers, creative thinkers, organizers and mentors.
In order to teach architecture, you will need a deep understanding of subjects like design, education, building, construction, history, fine arts, archaeology, engineering, computers, technology, philosophy, theology and geography. To gain this knowledge you will need a master’s degree and maybe even a Ph.D., M.D., or J.D.
