Postsecondary biological science teachers teach subjects like biology and anatomy at colleges and universities.

Do you have a passion for subjects like biology, anatomy, microbiology and biochemistry? As a postsecondary biological science teacher you will have the chance to pass on this passion to students and even do research and publish your findings.

Teachers at colleges and universities give lectures, mentor students, grade assignments, assist with laboratory work, prepare syllabi and handouts, keep student records and advise students regarding further education and career opportunities.

Teachers are usually good at instructing, readings, speaking, critical thinking, writing, listening and managing time.

To teach in the biological sciences, you will need a deep understanding of biology, chemistry, math and medicine. You will also need to learn about education, computers and electronics. A master’s program will teach you all this and more. Some teachers even have a Ph.D., M.D. or J.D.

Job opportunities for postesecondary biological science teachers are expected to increase quickly. The average annual income for people in this field is about $70,000.
