As a teacher at a college or university, you will do so much more than just give lectures. You will mentor students, grade assignments and tests, create syllabi, keep student records, plan curriculum and help students with academic and career choices.

People who make good teachers are usually good at explaining things, reading, communicating, listening, critical thinking, writing and managing time.

Your day-to-day work will include teaching, gathering information, analyzing data, communicating with peers and supervisors as well as students and making sure you are up to date on the latest business news and trends.

To do well as a postsecondary teacher, you will need a master’s degree and maybe a Ph.D, M.D. or J.D. Job opportunities for business teachers at colleges and universities are expected to increase quickly. The average annual income for people with this career is about $68,000.
