With this career you will read building plans, sketches and blue prints, plan projects, decide what types of materials to use for specific tasks, make sure furniture is level, install fixtures and cut materials.
You will use things like levels, nails, glue, dowel pins, wood screws, power saws, pencils and marking gauges, power routers, squares and power sanders, and that’s just scratching the surface. Construction carpenters also use accounting, office suite, web page creation, word processing and project management software as they design and create pieces.
Construction carpenters are usually good at decision making, installation, learning, managing time and resources, listening, reasoning and using their hands.
