Plumbing | All Degrees
Plumbing is one of the highest paid sectors of the construction industry according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor. Plumbers install, maintain, and repair various plumbing systems including water systems, drainage systems, waste disposal systems, and gas systems.
In many locations plumbing programs will train students in how to assemble the correct piping pieces and place them and connect them through various sealing techniques as well as how to read blueprints, braze and solder, and make pipe calculations. Students will also learn to repair any leaks or clogs within a plumbing system, be it in a dishwasher, a toilet, water heater, underground piping, or a bathtub.
Individuals pursuing a career in plumbing combine professional training with an apprenticeship and in some states a license is required.
