The Organizational Communication emphasis explores the use of interpersonal communication in an organizational setting, identifying how such communication affects workplace relationships.

Every workplace necessitates strong communication skills. Individuals with the ability to interact and communicate efficiently — interpersonally and through different forms of media — will have a competitive edge. With an additional 15.7 million wage and salary jobs expected to be created in the coming years, now is the time to earn a Bachelor of Science in Communication and capitalize on this tremendous growth.

Students cultivate strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills that can be seamlessly applied in practically any career field. The curriculum focuses on group dynamics, team building, and resolving challenges in the workplace; developing dynamic, interactive multimedia presentations and websites; utilizing new media and software applications used in business, institutional, and home environments.

The Organizational Communication emphasis explores the use of interpersonal communication in an organizational setting, identifying how such communication affects workplace relationships. Through the cultivation of persuasion, bargaining, and negotiation skills, students learn how interpersonal communication strategies can improve their ability to lead, give and receive feedback, and participate effectively in a group. With this valuable skill set, graduates will be better prepared to understand diverse perspectives, mediate and engage in constructive conflict, and utilize their research and reasoning skills in the workplace.

Graduates of the Bachelor of Science in Communication program are prepared for careers in many fields, including advertising, marketing, organizational communication, public relations, publishing, human resources, law, criminal justice, politics, public administration, ministry, social services, opinion and market research, fundraising, civil service, international business, and management.
