In a prison setting, corrections workers monitor inmates as they go about their daily activities. Because criminal activity is, unfortunately, constant in our society the job market for corrections is very stable and according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics the employment of correctional officers is expected to grow 16 percent between 2006 and 2016, which is faster than average for all careers.
