Corrections

Start a corrections program and get ready to work in a prison or government office. The criminal justice field is all about protecting American citizens and is an excellent field to work in.

Corrections workers work within local, state and federal prisons as well as for regional government offices. In a prison setting, corrections workers monitor inmates as they go about their daily activities. In a government setting they work as parole officers interviewing and processing drug and sex offenders into state registration systems and making sure they meet parole requirements. Because criminal activity is, unfortunately, constant in our society the job market for corrections is very stable and according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics the employment of correctional officers is expected to grow 16 percent between 2006 and 2016, which is faster than average for all careers. The average salary of corrections workers is currently $35,760. Get into some courses today!
