Phlebotomy is drawing blood from a patient for medical purposes. Physicians, nurses, medical assistants, paramedics, cardiac physiologists, and clinical laboratory scientists perform phlebotomy. While all of these people have the know how to draw blood, the job of the phlebotomist is to relieve the work load of doctors and nurses.

Activities of the job include drawing blood from patients or donors, verifying records, taking vital signs and testing blood samples. The demand for phlebotomists is high and expected to grow so finding a job will be easy.
