Embalmers

Embalmers prepares bodies for internment according to state regulations. This involves cleaning the body, externally and internally, replacing blood with embalming fluid, reshaping and reconstructing damaged body parts, and often apply cosmetics to present the body with a life-like appearance.

Most Embalmers work in funeral homes, and are frequently at chapels and other religious locations. Embalmers work with dead bodies, so proper safety precautions such as protective masks are usually worn by the Embalmer

Embalmers must complete studies in mortuary science, followed by a period of apprenticeship. Be sure to look into the programs being offered in many locations.
