Construction management workers, also known as general contractors or project managers, plan and oversee the construction of residential, commercial, industrial, and civic building projects.

Construction management workers schedule and coordinate all the different elements of construction including site preparation, framing, plumbing, electrical systems, and heating.

In many locations construction management programs will teach students about scheduling, budgeting, accounting, construction terminology, and project management skills.

People with many Associate’s Degrees in construction management find themselves in jobs where they work both in office settings as well as on site to manage all the different workers on a construction project.
